The course starts on October 21, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. with an online introductory event.
Everyone who has registered for the course will receive a link to participate in advance.
Planned dates are October 28, November 4, November 18 and November 25. These will take place in person as planned except for November 25. Changes to the dates will be discussed on October 21. The course only takes place on Monday evenings.
The course prepares for the theory test for the SBF and provides information about practical training options. The time required to learn theory and practice is between 20 and 50 hours and depends on the respective license.
The exam can be taken on various weekends. The course prepares in particular for the exam on December 7 in Frankfurt (Main). Other dates are February 8, 2025, also in Frankfurt.
A medical certificate and a passport photo are required to register for the exam (total cost approx. 30-60 euros). Registration for the exam on December 7th must be completed by December 2nd at the latest. The exam fees are between 130 euros (SBF inland) and 220 euros (SBF inland motor & sailing + SBF sea).
Depending on the scope and provider, the practical training costs between 100 and 300 euros for SBF sea and SBF inland motor, and usually takes place one to two weeks before the practical exam.
The cost of additional teaching materials is 20-60 euros.
